Now, THIS is Annoying

I cannot believe I'm being forced to defend Ann Coulter.

I hate Ann Coulter. I hate the way she thinks. I hate the way she sounds. I hate the way she looks.

I HATE her.

However, I support her right to free speech. After all, this is America and she has the right to say whatever she chooses no matter how dumb, ignorant, insensitive and downright hateful it may be.

We as citizens have the right to challenge her opinion with our own. We also have the right simply ignore her! We can choose to spend our money on other things than her book. A book, by the way, I wouldn't wipe my ass with .

What we don't need is our Assemblywomen in New Jersey calling for a state-wide boycott of said book because they disagree with the content.

If we wanted Republicans in these positions we would have elected them.

Let's save the boycotts for the middle red staters and their hatred of The Dixie Chicks and The DaVinci Code. I would hope we were above such things on the coast lines.

I hope that New Jersey merchants ignore this call and continue to sell this piece of trash for a couple of reasons.

1. Censorship of any kind is wrong! The 1st admendment is there to protect all American Citizens. Not just the ones you agree with.

2. The more people that buy and read this book the more will see just how far gone the extreme Right Wing are in this country. That can only be a good thing for the future.

These assemblywomen need to tackle the bigger issues facing this state and stop wasting time posing for the political cameras.

Get back to work!

I agree with the free speech thing, and she says things and distorts the truth to get a rise just like Michael Moore, although I like Michael Moore.

If Michael Moore crosses the line, she leaps over him by miles in my opinion.

THe things she's running around saying about 9/11 widows is some of the most disgusting shit I've heard in a long time...

Michael distorts things, yes.... However, I've never heard him say anywhere close to the hateful shit she does

i agree with your comments about how extreme the far right wing is, but i'd also, in all fairness, have to say that they same thing happens with people on the far left side of the continuum. i don't remember things being this way 10 years ago - then you could have some type of level and constructive dialogue.

I don't know... While I agree the far left is insane (see my post on the ACLU)I don't think they are nuts in the same way.

The far right seems to be much more hateful. A liberal might disagree with something but I never hear them blowing an abortion clinic up or running elections based on hate like the Right did last election.

I agree with the fact it's moved very far from constructive debate these past 10 years.

Mostly I blame the Right for that as well. You can see the proof everyday for the past six years.

IF someone spook out against the war.... They HATED freedom and America.

If someone said something about Bush in concert.... Their career need to be destroyed and they were "Supporting the enemy"

If someone questions why American citizens are being spied on by the government... They are "helping destroy top secret programs and helping the enemy."

If someone supported equal rights for gay Americans.... They hated Christianity and were supported the death of the "American" family.

The Right has taken every topic and made it a "With us or against the USA!" issue... There is little room for actual free thought, discussion or debate.

American Politics is an ugly thing right now. There is no more middle ground.

I myself am very liberal when it comes to social issues and fairly conservative when it comes to money and privacy issues. Where do I fit? If you asked Karl Rove he would say to shove me into the far Left and leave me there.

Black and White.

I'm reading Anns book now. She was a nlittle rough on those 9-11 broads, but if your going to be making political ads for John Kerry and trash the president in them, your fair game.

God bless Ann Coulter

PS: Kerry Lost......GET OVER IT.

unfortunately it works for both sides of these idiotic partisan debates:

If someone spoke out for the war.... They are war mongering, gullible morons

If someone is against gay marriage.... they are homophobes.

If someone is against illegal immigration (works for both parties)...they are racists.

If someone supports intelligent design...they're backwards-thinking hillbillies

etc etc etc.

There's enough hateful speech going around from both sides. There will never be any resolution as long as neither side is willing to have an open mind toward other viewpoints.

How can you not like Coulter she is even more annoyed than you. Got to love someone who crosses the line like she does.
If anyone has the knack of pissing people off she leads the pack, what a wonderful trait to have and to make money doing it is the topper.
Lighten up, she's annoyed, your annoyed, you just have a difference of opinion on what to be annoyed about.

I have to laugh at all the left wing comments. They pick the extreme(like boming an abortion clinic)and try to make it seem like everyone on the right felt that way. If you keep up on the news you would see the extreme stuff on BOTH sides the mainstream, both left & right denounce.
Ann printed her opinion, she didn't take film clips and splice & cut them to make it look like people said things they didn't mean, like Micheal Moore did.
I hope liberals keep talking & they will keep losing. Right Books and Movies far surpass left wing things(Passion of the Christ, etc).
Yeah you have a few that don't do bad like Moore's movies, but not near what the Right Wing has done.
Also what about Right Wing Radio compared to Left(ie Air America) and why does Fox continually beat all the other news newtworks.
I say libs & Dems Keep talking.
GOD BLESS

Mark-

I don't care for extreme views on either side of the political debate.

I don't care for Ann and I don't care for the ACLU (I have a previous post on that)

But again, I will continue to defend her having the same rights as all of us when it comes to her opinions.

Doesn't mean I have to like them

Gopbuddy-

To say "The Passion" is a right-wing movie is very misguided IMO.

It also speaks to my major problem with the Republican Party right now. The Right has staked a claim to Christ and that makes me laugh... I consider Jesus to be the biggest liberal in history. It's amuses me to no end to hear conservatives pick and choose the lessons they follow. "The Passion" did a billion dollars at the box office. I doubt that was 100% "right-wing" money being spent. I have many liberal friends who payed to see it and some conservatives ones as well.

Christ belongs to all...At least that's what I was lead to believe.

Also, quoting radio ratings doesn't do much for me either.

Fox may beat Air America in many markets.

So what?

They're preaching to the choir anyway!

Being someone who leans left I don't listen to either. I'd rather read things on the internet or in print, look at both sides and make an informed decision. Listening to one-sided radio blowhards (on both sides) serves me no purpose.

You are correct that the liberals will continue to lose at election time. The leadership in the Democratic Party SUCKS.... The people they run SUCK! The way they organize their base SUCKS!

The country in general is liberal. The are also lazy. Point in case, liberal women don't vote! They don't even leave the house on election day.

As big of scumbags the current administration are they are smart and know how to organize their base come election time... I'll give them that.

November will be interesting... I think both sides are a little too confident right now. The left will steal some seats but not all they need or expect to.

In closing I will say these two things...

1. It seems to me people on the left are FAR more tolerant of different opinions than people on the Right. Just a general observation I've made. (compare Ann Coulter to the Dixie Chicks or the Davinci Code as examples)

2. I personally don't care for Michael Moore. I freely admit he's a self-serving slob and most likely does more harm than good.

Thnaks for both of you for stopping by... We welcome all types here!
